How can I change my information?
You can change your personal information under your profile. Alternatively you can call the Office on (03) 9818 2193 or email the Office at St Columb's about your issue.
How can I change what other people see about me in the Member Directory or Groups that I belong to?
Under My Profile select "Privacy Settings" from the left hand side sidebar. Click on "Member Directory". If the "Show my profile" is ticked, then you will appear in the Member Directory. Once ticked you should see a number of green tiles with a name such as "Photo". When the background is green, then that information will be displayed in the Member Directory. For example if you click on "Photo" that currently has a green background, then the background will change to grey and your Photo will no longer appear in the Member Directory.
If you click on "Groups" you will see a number of groups that you belong to. You can again control what information you share with the other members of that group.
How come I have a photo attached to my profile?
You can add a photo to your profile by going to your My Profile and hover over the default smiley face on the Left Hand side. Click on "Change" and update your profile picture. If you already have a picture then this is probably the one that you set in your gravatar.com account associated with your email that you have used in your ChMS profile. We recommend setting up your own gravatar.com account which is a great way of managing your picture profile which may be used by various web applications but if you can't be bothered, just upload a photo into the ChMS.
How can I access the ChMS?
You can access the ChMS using a browser like Google Chrome, Firefox, etc. You can also use an App available from either the App Store or Google Play. The App isn't as feature rich as the browser version but if you have access to the Member Directory you can email or phone people directly. You will have to log in to the ChMS to access all the features available.
Can I email another person?
If you are a Member of St Columb's then the Member Directory feature of the App is the easiest way of emailing or sending an SMS message .
You can also send emails using the ChMS on a Web Browser such as Chrome but you will need to first make sure you associate your email application with the mailto html link from your browser. See How to make Gmail your default Email Program for example.
To email a person in the Member Directory from a browser, click on the name of the person to open the person's contact details. You will see a green button near the top right hand corner with the label "Email Iain" for example. Clicking on this button will take you to your default email app.
To email a person in a group that you are also a member of, find that person under the Members tab of the group under the My Groups menu. The email address for each person will be listed provided they have adjusted their privacy settings to allow this information to be displayed. Clicking on an email address will open your default email application. However you may find it easier just to copy and paste the email address in your email application.
If you are a Leader of a group with Email Access Permissions then emailing a person from the Member Directory will work differently when using the browser.
How can I add my children?
Please email the Office and specify your child's name. They will link your child to your family and once that is done you will be able to update your child's information via your My Profile. Children over 18 are not associated with their parents.
I would like people at St Columb's to use "Mirren" as my last name rather than "Mironoff"
Under your My Profile enter the last name that you wish to use at St Columb's in the "Last Name" field. In the "Alternate Name" field, enter your other last name such as your maiden name.
I would like to be called Helen even if my legal first name is Lydia
Enter the name that you would like to be known as in the "Preferred Name" field in your My Profile. If you don't enter anything into "Preferred Name" then your "First Name "will be used.
Should I Log Out?
You can Log Out by clicking on your name in the top Right Hand Corner and selecting "Log Out".
You should always do this if you don't have a password on your device or you are using a public device like a computer at a library. Otherwise you run the risk of allowing someone else seeing information about other people at St Columb's as well as your own information. It is like leaving the St Columb's Member Directory on the train. Not a good thing.
But if you use your own device and it is password protected then you really don't have to bother about logging out.
What is ChMS?
Tithe.ly ChMS (Elvanto) is a web service that is used by St Columb's as a Church Management System (that's where "ChMS" comes from) and also helps us to manage service rosters, event registrations etc. Personal information is stored on servers located in Australia.
Click on your name in the top Right Hand Side. "My Profile" will appear as an option. Click on it and you will be taken to your profile.
Why can't I see the online Member Directory?
Only St Columb's Members have access to the online Member Directory.
